Electrical vehicles are often designed for niche markets and for performing specific logistic tasks. Due to the complexity of these logistic tasks customers often insist that vehicles meet high quality standards, such as operational reliability and a long lifespan.
In order to ensure high-quality products, Spijkstaal adheres to the ISO 9001 quality system and has been ISO 9001 certified since 1996. Spijkstaal has been ISO 9001 - 2008 certified since 2009. This version not only applies to the final product, but to all business processes as well.
Many of our customers are conscious about their environmental impact. Many organisations have incorporated sustainability as part of their strategic goals. They invest in zero-emission vehicles and believe it is important to minimise the ecological footprint of both their own, and their suppliers' companies. Spijkstaal, as a consultancy services provider and a manufacturer of zero-emission vehicles, believes it must serve as an example for other companies.
Since 1999, Spijkstaal has been using an environmental barometer to precisely map its environmental performance. This barometer shows that in the past 10 years, Spijkstaal’s environmental impact has declined by more than 65%! The factory’s CO2 emissions have been reduced by 58%. These reductions mean that the company’s environmental costs are lower than in 1999, despite the many price increases of the past few years.
Every six months, Spijkstaal’s quality assurance system is audited by Lloyds. Spijkstaal, within the context of its quality assurance system, regularly performs random surveys to assess customer satisfaction and, if necessary, adjusts its processes accordingly.
